AIR OF EARTH AESTHETICS

dPN AFTERCARE

Following your treatment you may experience:

  • Reddening, swelling and sensitivity of the skin in the area for up to 48 hours

  • The treated area and surrounding skin may feel hot for up to 48 hours.

  • Pin dot crusting in the area that has been treated or small scabs may appear.

  • The skin may itch as the healing process takes place.

However, everyone is different, so please do not be alarmed if it takes a little longer. If in doubt, please contact us on 7867553312

Following treatment, ensure that you adhere to the client aftercare advice to avoid unwanted reactions or infections:

Pin dot crusts or scabs may appear to seal the skin and prevent infection. These must not be rubbed or picked off, as to do so may result in scarring. The crusts or scabs may be indistinguishable and “felt” rather than “seen”.

Do not touch, rub or irritate the treated area. When washing and cleansing, use a gentle soap or perfume free cleanser and gently pat the area dry to avoid dislodging any crusts, scabs or the treated Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra.

  • Avoid activities for 48 hours that stimulate blood flow following this treatment e.g. exercise, hot showers, hot baths, hot spicy foods and alcohol.

  • Avoid activities for 48 hours that may irritate or dislodge any crusting, minor scabbing or the treated Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra e.g. swimming, saunas, steam rooms, facial steaming, exfoliating, enzyme exfoliation, waxing and other skincare treatments until the area has completely healed.

  • Avoid flying within 48 hours of the treated Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra.

  • Avoid UV light completely during the healing process, and as much as realistically possible, cover up with a hat or parasol. Protect the treated areas by using our SPF as exposure to the treated Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra can create hyperpigmentation.

  • Avoid the possible friction on the treated areas such as wearing tight fitting glasses, squeezing spots, careless or erratic tweezing or blowing the nose too vigorously.

  • Avoid using any possible skin sensitizers or irritants such as perfumes, perfumed body lotions or deodorants.

Should you have any concerns regarding your treatment, please contact the clinic – call us on 7867553312

As a follow up and to maintain good client care, we always see new clients one week after commencement of treatment for a complimentary Skin Check to confirm that the treated area is clean, dry, free from infection and that the Dermatosia Papulosa Nigra have healed. Kindly please plan this in reception with your therapist as well, your treatment plan.

wHAT SHOULD I DO POST FACIAL?

Admire your glowing skin but don’t touch. Be sure to change out your pillowcase and go to bed. No need to do a routine for the remainder of the day. Download the pocketsuite app to keep up with appointments.

Q: HOW DO IMAINTAIN MY SKIN AFTER MY FACIAL ?

You can maintain your skin with products and treatment plan that your esthetician has recommended for you both AM/PM. BEST results are 70% homecare and 30% treatments.

eXERCISE, MAKEUP AND SUNEXPOSURE

Exercise that produces a lot of heavy sweating should be avoided the day of the treatmen.Avoid makeup, at least for the first day. You can use it after that, but why not take this as an opportunity to flaunt your new, glowing skin. BB Cream/Tinted Moisturizer will suffice! And use this break to deep clean your brushes! Avoid chlorine for the first 3-7 days.

Stay out of the sun, if you can. The new skin cells exposed by your facial are sensitive. Give them a few days out of the sun and, if you have to go out, use a high SPF (30+) sunscreen and reapply!

wELLNESS

Skincare is an inside-out approach. They both work synergistic-ally for great results. I know diet can be tricky, but in my research the main culprits affecting skin are sugar and consuming too many acidic products like dairy. These culprits lead to inflammation, acne, post inflammatory pigmentation and dull life-less skin. If you're acne prone check out the Acne and lifestyle guide listed in resources

A rule of thumb is to try to have balanced meals. ½ your plate vegetables, small amount of healthy fats (I.E avocado, olive oil) ¼ your plate protein and ¼ your plate a complex carb like sweet potatoes.

Eliminate or reduce all processed foods. reduce sugar try to eat foods that contain no more than 5 grams of sugar. I would recommend staying within the women's daily intake amount of 25grams (per the American Heart Association)

Upon waking consume 16oz of warm lemon water to help alkalize your body and wake up your liver. And drink half of your body weight in ounces daily.
