Skin Icing: May just be the icing on the cake for radiant skin!

The most accessible skincare hack is right in your kitchen! Put down the homemade avocado and oatmeal mask and reach into your freezer for the chilly-skin-savior-cubes!

Skin icing, also known as cryotherapy exposes skin to subzero temperatures for a short stint time frame to bring circulation to the upper layers of the skin. More blood flow to the face gives your skin that After Vacation Glow. Cryotherapy, was first developed to treat rheutomtoid arthritis, today it is used for many beautification treatments like fat blasting, wart removal, acne, and spider veins.

Benefits

My clients are always pleasantly surprised at just how well icing works, especially for acne prone skin. If you’re suffering from pimples, pustules, cysts, and papules. run and grab the ice now! At the core of most acne lies inflammation, icing helps to constrict the blood vessels resulting in the breakout healing at a faster rate.

Relieves Redness: If you suffer with rosacea or redness, you’ll find that icing helps to inhibit inflammation.

Reduces Puffiness: The girls were on to something when they were applying cool cucumbers under their eyes. The temperature of the ice helps to cool and calm the skin

Promotes circulation: Icing is like a workout for your skin, with increased blood flow your body is able to rid itself of more toxins, leaving your skin rosy and radiant.

How to Ice Skin

Straight out the Fridge Method: Cheapest…. but works!

First, you want to start with clean hands and a clean face. The most affordable way to skin ice is to place one to two ice cubes in a damp paper towel and circle it around your face for 1-2 minutes. Afterwards, you can continue with topicals like serums, moisturizers, and spf.

Ice Roller: most practical

Another option, is an ice roller. This method is my preferred just because its easier, less messy, and makes me feel fabulous. Ice rollers are still very affordable way to get the benefits of cryotherapy. All you need to do is pop it in your fridge or skincare fridge and roll it upwards on your face. Be sure to wash with soapy water after each use.
