Skin Issues and Blocked Drainage Pathways

Drainage pathways are the way in which your body eliminates toxins. These must be open to facilitate any kind of healing. Doing this in combination with the external work ( I.e facials, chemical peels, exercise, nervous system work) yields the best result for overall harmony in the body.

There are 5 pathways:

  1. Liver

  2. Lymph

  3. Bowels

  4. Skin

  5. Kidneys

Ways to spot if your pathways are blocked

Liver: acid reflux, gallstones, constipation, headache, fatigue, pale and foul-smelling stools, hair loss and aching in the liver area are all signs that your liver is not functioning well. Hypothyroidism is often linked to poor liver function!

Lymph: bloating, swelling, brain fog, digestive distress, mood disorders and depression, respiratory illness, excess weight, constipation, cold extremities and more!

Bowels: Constipation, not defecating daily

Skin: Rashes, acne, dull and lax skin, eczema

Kidneys: Fluid retention, swelling, edema

What to do?

Liver: nourish your liver with dandelion root tea, milk thistle, bitters and lots of leafy greens! These help move bile through the liver and gallbladder and helps to eliminate excess estrogen

Lymph: the lymph runs like a river throughout your whole body working to move toxins out. We can assist this process by: MOVEMENT exercise, dry brushing, massages all move the fluid. Even body-contouring can help flush out excess toxins. Check out Cassie for body contouring needs.

Bowels: pooping is vital! Increase fiber intake with flax seeds, smoothies, probiotics and digestive enzymes. And eating lots of leafy greens. You should be pooping at least 1-2x a day

Skin: sweating, infrared saunas, epsom salt baths all helps your body releases toxins.

Kidneys: Drinking half your body weight in purified water. Adding electrolytes to water will regulate muscle and nerve function, hydration, blood pressure and your body’s pH levels. Try adding Celtic sea salt to your water, drinking more coconut water or try a supplement called “Natural calm”.
